Sorry...

for the repost...was away yesterday. Hopefully it won't go 8 pages!

I dunno...maybe the Roubaix geo will fit Boonen well??? He seems to prefer a little more upright pos.

Those wheels are hideous...and the Cricket will bring the WC stripes to an all time low...plastering his entire body in rainbow and gold!

Those wheels are so effed up looking. I mean maybe if you're spiderman they are cool but for Bettini? NFW...

i heard both bettini and boonen retired when they saw the bikes they would have to ride.
bettini works in the sidi factory laying up shoe uppers and boonen drives a forklift in a chocolate factory in brussels.
needs to be confirmed by swoop.

Hey, at least they don't have to wear a sponsor logo like VIAGRA.

Whoops!

this sponsorship may backfire on Specialized, if the bikes are as bad as everyone says? and if the wattage freek that Boonen is starts snappin these things wholesale, Specialized is going to have "alota splainin to do?" How many of you looked at Times differently when he started ghost shifting those things? Should be COOL to watch though

the bikes are not bad. they are as a good or better than any mass produced frame. what thye are is not traditional looking and that turns some folks off.
while i don't like the look of the wheels... what they do is appearent when you look at them dead on from the front. you literally can't see any spokes.. so it has a cleaner profile. they also look better in real life (a friend has been on prototypes for motnhs).

i am on a specialized sponsored team next year and am looking forward to the bike.

former olympian and masters worlds champ (curent tt and last year in road) thurlow rogers says it's an amazing bike (the tarmac sl). tr said it climbs, sprints, and turns better than anything hes been on.
i tend to trust thurlow in these matters.

Specialized

Who says the Specialized bikes are bad? The only thing bad about them is that with every 2cm size increments they fit or they don't. But you average pro does not mind a 13-14cm stem and huge drop.

If Pegoretti built a bike and slapped Specialized stickers on it, would it be cool/acceptable?

He's done plenty of stealth bikes before.

Full disclosure: I sold my CSi because I liked the ride of my Record-equipped Allez Comp Cro-Mo better. But if it said "Pegoretti" or "Huffy" or "Mongoose," that would be OK, too.

Well, maybe not "Mongoose."
