My first thought when I saw the first pic was "Wow, that's stunning."
Then my eyes went to the hoods and I was wondering if those were the most "difficult" part of the build.

Are they OEM period correct?

Having sourced several 9 speed Ultegra/ DA hoods, I now have a habit of looking in that area when it comes to restorations or even buying old brake levers.

The lugs took minutes... These bikes shine up with a dab of mothers wheel polish VERY quickly. If they have deeper scratches, that takes a buffer and a couple different rouges etc...

The thing is... The old builds were MASSSIVELY simple. As long as you have the right tools, it's really quick to take things apart and put em back.

IT TOOK 6 Flarking weeks to get the hoods!

The Levers are the original parts (refinished to full polish) The Hoods took Forever to get, but went on clean and easy (just sprayed a bit of window cleaner in the lever and slipped em right on).

The hardest part was the one thing that shouldnt be on the bike... I had to get those godamn Conti Gatorskins off to rotate the labels to the valve stems.

And then get them back on.

They're so farking tight that I blistered my fingers pushing the bead over the sidewall. NOBODY should ever try and put Gatorskins on those Elite rims...

Very nice bike. Do you refinish bikes as a hobby or business? Where do you sell them?

This was one of the bikes I wanted to buy back in the day but I distinctly remember the bike shop refusing to sell it to me because I was too heavy at 200 pounds for the frame. Pretty bike.

For a period correct build, you need a Suntour rear mech and and Simplex retro-friction shifters.

Oh, and clinchers on that bike ???, a full on Charlie Brown ARRRGGGGGHHHH!

So, so beautiful. Forks and stays look... semichrome? I'm a sucker for chrome.

Wow. More beautiful than Sophia Loren.

I review bikes and do projects... I don't really know where I sell them, typically it's just local friends

These are the original parts... Guerciotti called it Sprint, but it was this Group... Campagnolo Triumph, with these wheels, pedals etc... all OE (New saddle, tires bar tape). They did use a couple of different shifters from 84-@87.
