Thanks to everyone for suggestions.
Looks like my options are (in no particular order) 1) run a SRAM crank I already have for $0. 2) pay $165 for a new Shimano ring/bolt/cover combo 3) dig around on ebay/classifieds to find option 2 for less $ 4) run the existing 50-34 crank and enjoy never wearing out the top 2 cogs in my cassette 5) Experiment with the FSA Adventure 46-30 for $200ish new. I've had hit/miss experiences with FSA cranks in the past. 6) Find something from Europe. I'll probably choose #1, but #5 seems interesting. |
