I'd look at a Crux, even an older one if you dont need that new bike smell. Mine is a 2014, and other than the mechanical disc brakes its not much different from anything up to the current model.

Tubulars are dead.
Clinchers are dead.
Rim brakes are dead.
Steel is rumored to be on its deathbed.

It's kinda morbid.

Oh - and ebikes are hot.

Get a gravel bike of whatever frame material you want. Wider tires. Disc brakes. Go anywhere. Have more fun.

If you get a "gravel" bike, check out the geometries- they vary greatly. For example, the Crux has a long reach compared to other bikes in the same top tube range. You may prefer a bike that is closer to a road geometry that takes wider tires (eg. Trek Domane).

Also, a lot of CF disc bikes are not much lighter than titanium; majority of gravel bikes are 18-20 lbs.

As do I agree. Although one should be sure the high trail figure will not offend rolling if predominately ues would be on paved surfaces...

OP: Are any of your CX disc?

Good luck rolling, get it done.

There is a good looking 2014 carbon Crux disc for sale nearby. I may try to check it out in the next few days.

If that was supposed to be '2014', less trail, and less BB drop than latest offering.

Yes 2014. Edited/fixed.

According to geometry geeks, BB drop is the same (69) and trail only differs by 1 mm (61 on 2014, 62 on 2021).

Welcome back!

If I were doing the same, buying a new bike, and stuff was actually available, I'd hustle to buy a new Crux too. Best of all worlds.

If you are checking Geo Geeks, you already have a solid source for info. I dig that site.

The modern gravel type bikes like the crux, warbird, stigmata ride, fit, and feel mostly like a road bike but don’t hesitate to go off the path as needed. I’ve only ridden a crux and now have a stigmata. Great bikes.
