February 6, 2012: Happy TENTH anniversary to The Paceline!

On this date in 2012 The Paceline officially went online with it's new name and logo and the Serotta Forum went to bike forum heaven. So far in ten years, The Paceline has accumulated:
  • 272,000 threads
  • Over THREE MILLION posts
  • 26,000+ members.
WOO-HOO!

:b anana:

I was a mod at the time (no longer since 2018) and so were KeithA, Angry Scientist, and William, and they all still are! BruceK was also there but I don't remember if he is still a mod (Sorry, Bruce!). There are many other mods who have all contributed to the Paceline community by volunteering their time and effort to help everyone have a good time. Forgive me if I can't remember them all.

I've spent way too much time here since December 11, 2003 when I joined, and it has led to some stupid arguments that I am embarrassed to say I participated in. But it has also resulted in some of the best cycling (and life) education I could ever get, and getting to know some of the best people you could ever ask to be associated with.

Thanks to all!

BBD

I was ruminating on this a few days ago. I was thinking it was hard to believe I've been hanging around here since 04....coming up on 20years! Man where does the time go??

I'll echo Dave's post, I've learned a lot and met a lot of great people in person over the years. My participation here has been a majority net positive due to the people who hang and contribute on this forum. The move to the Paceline was a great opportunity and I think it's been going very well over these ten years since the roll over. Great fellow mods and excellent forum members make it a pleasure to hang here.

Thank you folks!

A toast to another great ten!!

I was here at the transition! Yikes…. I had heard about the Serotta Forum and joined in March 09, mostly to try to find a Serotta. Which I did, and I still have two. Time flies, but wheels turn more slowly.

Anyway, Congrats to the Paceline, the mods, the members, all. It has been a great place to be a part of, and learn from. As Pete would have done, I’ll have a glass of red to everyone’s health tonight.

Wow-
It's been a long time. Like others I was on the Kahuna run forum in the 90's then followed to the Serotta forum then to Paceline. It's hard to believe I've been a mod here since 2014. In spite of being a Duck I was still allowed to join the fun.
I look forward to meeting and riding with other members here in the future.

Many thanks to KeithA and all the other moderators, whose work has made this place run so smoothly over 10 years.

Certainly a unique atmosphere and camaraderie, compared to other bike forums, where people can share their knowledge about bikes and other life situations, learn and yes sometimes disagree. We are all so lucky that Ben Serotta turned the forum over to us rather than just shutting it down and the hard and the work involved in the transition to Paceline by administrators and mods and their counted efforts thereafter!

Happy 20th anniversity and may we all enjoy many many more!!!

The brain trust is what makes this forum fantastic: well educated and detail oriented. Here's to the next 10 years!

Met some amazing people and had great rides thanks to PL. Everyone here is the cream of the crop. I have asked for the most random advice here in OT threads because I know the average IQ and emotional intel on this board are probably higher than any online community I have been a part of. A wonderful oasis of bright people in a sea of reddit and twitter garbage.
