Mid reach brake frame
Just curious if anyone builds a stock Ti mid reach brake frame. I do know that Dolan does, however, they claim max 28mm tire size and I confirmed with them.
https://www.dolan-bikes.com/adx-frameset/ I know it is highly unlikely but wanted to check all my options before I commit to a year ++ wait for a custom. I am very familiar with the quicker Chinese options for custom.

Seven Cycles is claiming an 18-week lead time right now, and their Redsky model is mid-reach brake.

How big a tire were you looking to fit?
No22 has a Great Divide available and you should get 32's with standard reach brakes on that. If not as suggested above, give Steve Hampsten a ring or Seven for shorter lead customs, not sure anyone else has a bigger tire rim brake bike as "stock" or semi-production like No22 |

They are nice but way to $$$ for me. I can get a DeSalvo or Quiring for sub $3K

I would like it to be capable of 35mm.

Habanero often gets thrown out as the value titanium frame maker. Check them out

Airborne and Kona both did, in the past. I think Van Nichols did, too; they were a UK offshoot of Airborne.
Hard to find. |

My recollection is the base Seven frame was in the 3k range. An aside - Interesting about the Dolan - what’s the point of using midreach brakes but limiting the frame to 28s? I assume fender clearance but an odd spec given the trends in tire sizes and rim widths

If you're open to steel, definitely check out Milwaukee Bike (made by Waterford)

Jeremy Sycip and Mike DeSalvo are great and both had less than 1 year lead times last time I checked.

I don’t understand Dolan’s thinking either.

Just curious if you’ve ridden a bike with mid reach brakes? I’ve had 2: Mr. Pink and Soma Pescadero. And a Surly Steamroller but not going to count that.
I ride in an area with plenty of elevation gain per ride. Braking was subpar on both bikes. They were both sold within a year of purchase. For flat terrain or casual riding, it’d be no issue but I wasn’t a fan for spirited riding. Going back to short reach on my Caad felt like going from worn drum brakes to new discs. |

Mid reach brake frame
Dave Levy at Ti Cycles offers semi custom ti frames at $$2750 and he builds really good bikes. I’d check it out. As to mid rake performance, the new grand cru and I hear Trp give up very little if anything to short caliper brakes in my experience.
