Pics coming...paired setup.

It's less of a PITA when someone is there beside you.

I'll only say I'd probably be better off back on my rollers, money and workout-wise.

UPDATE: I went to the basement to tidy up and take pictures of our setup, but there was a Colnago frame that needed tending. 2 hours later, it's 60% built. So much for tidying up the basement.

Pretty cool. Better value than a $79 Wahoo mat. Without front wheels, I'm actually using a bar stool. Thanks for posting that.

I have a couple of those adhesive-backed Garmin tabs, maybe I should try to make one. I’m sure I’d waste more than $42, though.

No problem, I'm looking at getting one myself, have been using the tops of framed prints I have on the wall next to the trainer to hold my remote/phone.

I've tried so many devices over the years:
Racermate (from the late 70s)
Minora (type where bike mounts w/o front wheel)
Kreitler rollers
Performance fluid trainer (rear wheel clamp on type)
E-motion rollers

I could never stick with them for long...just way to mind numbing. That history makes me reluctant to get the new smart trainers and Zwift subscription. I'm sure it would be more engaging than just watching TV, or the wall, but still....

I have a Concept II rower and I use that if I cannot get out for a spell. For some reason it does not kill my brain the way indoor bike riding does.

If possible, could you give me the inside width measurement? I can't seem to find that in the product info. They list 25" but I don't know it that outside or inside.

EDIT

Got it! 24.5"

Curious how much weight that rocker board can handle and how heavy your bike is? I have a SB20 and it’s heavy and rock solid. I like it a ton but having a bit of movement would be awesome.

I ride rollers and it would be kinda neat to have my laptop with YouTube right out front and center.
Had this same one for a couple years and it's been perfect.

350 lb limit according to DC Rainmaker, bike is listed at 138 lb, so as long as you weigh less than 210 lb-ish, it should work.

I'm not sure you'd get the same/similar feeling as riding on the road though, with 140 lb of bike + the weight of the platform "under" you, the moment of inertia is way higher than your bike will ever be. Seems like it'd feel slow to respond as you hunt to find where the bike is under you, which may be worse than static. Total conjecture though, I haven't tried it.

I've had pretty good success with the following:

Kickr Core in the garage
Zwift running on a Macbook Air to LG 48" TV through Airplay
I use the companion app on my phone mounted to the handlebars
Pandora for music through a Bluetooth speaker..
*I need a new fan, wife stole mine for her Peloton!

works pretty well, the only niggle is Zwift on the TV will stall for 5 or so seconds every now and then.. if it does, I just look over to the laptop until it comes back..
I could use a cable (but I got a TV with Airplay for a reason) or I just turned down my resolution on Zwift to see if it makes a difference (I doubt it, but we'll see).
If I was racing in a Zwift league, I might be more worried about the occasional pause, but I don't so I'm not..

We bought a Peloton this year, and I'm going to give that a go for my winter stay in some shape plan.

I'll be curious how you get along with that.. I tried my wife's and just didn't like it.. but, I will say I despise spin classes.. I even tried the "ride" feature that wasn't a "class" and it just wasn't the same for me.. Zwift is much tolerable for me.

This solution seems to speak to me. So you are running Zwift on your laptop and then basically mirroring your laptop to the TV? I will probably wind up doing this with an HDMI cable! Seems simple enough!
