Correct. Super simple but really effective. I had the shelving brackets laying around, along with several hundred neodymium magnets from a little side business we used to have. Double stacking the magnets gets enough clearance for them to reach the recessed bolt head on the road cleats, and since the bolt heads are domed a little bit, the magnet has a stronger attraction to the flat bracket rail than the shoe, and thus doesn't pull off when you grab the shoe.

Hahaha... please don't ask for a picture of one of my "spares" cabinet... There may or may not be four pairs of S-works shoes NIB... #blameitonthesales

Question

It mystifies me that the roller companies do not create business partnerships with local craftsmen to build the platforms with integrated railings. That seems like it would be an "easy layup" for additional revenue.

I live in San Diego, I don't have or need one since my wife retired and I work from home. I always hated riding on the trainer, do not miss it at all.

I'm curious how you like it compared to the Kickr, I have the Kickr which I like, but always interested in hearing about the other options, especially from someone that has used both

So far my Saris works great. Only problem ive experienced is that when pairing the trainer to my macbook pro, it seems like it will only work if i reboot my mac each time... Definitely an issue with the laptop, not the trainer. But it doesnt bother me too too much.. LOVE how quiet it is.
