Saddle Recommendations

Hello, looking for recommendations for saddles. My sit bones are 144cm apart which really isn’t that wide but limits my options somewhat. I have a specialized power right now which works but is just okay. Dropping some weight would be a kind of an added plus.

Thanks PL!

I was on a spesh power which I loved for a while but for some reason started to be less comfortable. Now on a fabric scoop shallow and getting along with it. They are cheap too so an easy saddle to try ( and if you like it then you could spring for the more expensive carbon versions.

I've also had luck with the fabric scoop shallow.

If you're looking to lose weight, lots of weightweenies swear by Berk saddles (available in 150mm width as well):

I don't have any personal experience with them - unfortunately a bit too spendy for me.
Perhaps some other paceliners can chime in, or you can find opinions on the weightweenies website.

Remember, you don't sit on your sit bones, ischial tuberosity, unless bolt upright. The actual contact is on the curved ishial ramus. Think about that when choosing a saddle design.

First, if you have saddle 'issues', lotsa times it's a fit issue, not a saddle design issue.
Second, go to a place that has saddle demo programs..like those who sell SMP, Fizik, SI, SSM and probably Spec-Ed..

Just a thought, lower the saddle a couple of mm's, that helps a lot of times.

As for saddles themselves, my butt doesnt like some models of really good saddles.

Try the Specialized Power Arc
https://www.specialized.com/us/en/s-...=219198-133824

My butt likes it way more than the Power.

Hello, not a saddle issue per se but just looking to transition to a different one. I got the Power upon the recommendations of my LBS when i got my R5 as it came with Fizik Aliantes that my tush just did not like. The power works in the sense that it is fine but not really "the one". Hard to explain, you just know.

With regards to saddle height. I have that pretty dialed in from my fit with Pedro and have not deviated from it at all on any of my bikes.

Thanks PL

Compare the Power to the Arc.

If you are going for the S-Works version, my Arc weighs 134g. It has more padding that the Power and has rounded edges.

I've done 100 mile rides with comfort.

Power

Do you ride same size in Arc as regular Power?
