What is the biggest regret in your life?

Question for everyone on this forum, what do you regret the most in your life?

Very loaded question. There's many regrets, but one of my biggest ones is not serving in the military.

Worrying too much then about possible regrets later. Really.

Not hitting well at my 9th grade baseball tryouts. I could crank the ball, but that day I did terrible and never played high school baseball.

Not taking that one job offer ten years ago. That would have been seriously life changing.

Otherwise in terms of life, very few regrets. Life is too short to life with second guesses and regrets.

Not doing yoga or similar that would stretch my hammy's and improved my core, perhaps would of saved me from 2 fusions.

getting out of my "shell" when I was in high school, not 10 years later

"running away" from home when mumps were going around in 3rd grade, 50% sure this is what precipitated my type 1 diabetes at age 9.

Lets start with financial planning...

-Waiting embarrassingly long to participate in my employers TIA/401k type retirement (which matches 8%)

- house purchase and finances

I have one or two personal ones too. I will say that the regret of missed opportunity sure has a much different flavor than than the regret of having done something that you wish you didnt.

My top three:

Not verbalizing my appreciation for the loved ones I have lost.

Feeling justified for indulging my negative emotions.

Failing to recognize the importance of the moment for decades.

As i said in another thread, no regrets here, always looking forward.

of course have a few things filed under "lessons learned", and i can reflectively say i've made some real bonehead moves over the years, but no regrets, they all made me who/where i am today, and i'm happy where i am.

Same, No 'regrets'..as in, I dwell on 'why did I' or 'why didn't I'..type stuff. I think, looking back, I 'should' have stayed in the USN till 26 years..but that had 'payback' as well, cuz I'd have to move twice more and go to sea once more, so...

But no 'biggest' regrets...
