Sounds like a deep slash into the muscle fiber... Ouch. Not like the butt is an important functional group for cycling.

Unfortunate, but not at all surprising. When I saw the crash, I figured he'd be done for the season. That barrier ripped an enormous tear through his leg.

it was stated at one point to be the "muscle capsule" which needed to be closed. so yeah, a very deep slash. I think it's further down the leg though, judging from the dressings.

hope he's back soon, but it's more important for him to get a full recovery, however long that takes. kid's got massive talent and a very bright future.
