New Fizik Aliante saddle designs...worth trying?

Looking at the new Fizik saddle lines - I have been riding an Aliante. Intrigued by the new cutout designs - the Aliante Open and the Aliante Versus Evo...but they look a lot different than the old style Aliante. Has anyone have any experiences with the new styles vs the old styles?

(also found the Specialized Romin pretty comfortable...)

Pardon the late night saddle musings...

I've only seen the new versions of their saddles on the Fizik site. Are they out in the wild yet?

I have one on the Ritchy CX. I like it a lot. It has a rounder X axis profile than a lot of the board flat saddles that are popular now. It's pretty much my go-to saddle now. I really like the plastic bumpers too.

The new ones are different from the old ones. I have no idea why they changed. If you like the old style, the new Gammas kept that shape. It weighs more, but if that’s what fits you, get it.

I’ve got a few Aliantes: a Gamma Kium with metal rails, an older braided carbon, and a new R3 braided carbon. I’m a fan of the saddle-like quality that I used to get in old Turbos, the original Flite, etc.

I like the older braided Aliante best – it’s got the same shape as the Gamma. I use it on my road bike. The newer ones are a bit narrower and maybe not as enjoyable for the long rides, so it resides on my cross bike.

It's really too bad that Fizik discontinued their dealer saddle demo program, especially now that they seem to revise the design philosophy and line-up every 6 months.

I'm always interested in cutout saddles, as they just seem healthier anatomically.

At any rate, I think some of them are around on Amazon or competitive cyclist...just not sure about taking the plunge to try em...
