10 speed sram red der w 32t cassette?
not feeling like im reading a full consensus on sram short cage with 32t ... but looks like no worky?

i did it. i no longer have this rear der but i think it was short cage? it was fine after a few turns of the b limit. |

No real consensus since the RD hanger areas vary from bike to bike. Have seen more successful 32T capable setups than unsuccessful tho.

I'm running 32x36 1x10 with a short cage clutched X9. No problem.

If you're running SRAM on a cross bike, no reason not to get a clutch rear derailleur (e.g. X9 for 1x/2x or Rival 1 for 1x) and get the extra chain retention, IMO.
A short cage derailleur will handle a bigger cog more easily in a 1x setup, as it doesn't have to take up the chain length difference between the chainring sizes. |
