2nd gen Sram AXS?

I know there are two gens of Force 12 speed AXS hydro shifters. Are there two for Rival also? I am interested to find out if the second gen shifter ergonomics would be friendlier to my old hands.

SRAM did normal backwards progressions of their groups for D1, but then for D2 did it forward.

So it went in order of release:

Red D1
Force D1
Rival D2
Force D2
Apex D2
Red E1

So the newest Rival is the only Rival AXS released. We should see Force updated to E1 with the new shifter shape in the next two years (probably sooner, like in the Spring if I had to guess).

D2 have the redesigned hood shape. And Rival was released with D2 hood shape - there was no D1 Rival lever.

E1 is the newest (mid-2024 release) Red group.

I think you want the E1 shifters, which are currently only available in Red. You can read more about it here: https://www.cyclingnews.com/reviews/...erall-package/
