And I do apologize for not positing any quality pictures of the bike yet. I promise to do so when i have a bit more time at hand plus a full ride report.

Thank you for your interest and encouragement!

I like the old-school look of that handlebar mount, and it won't mar the finish of the frame.

I randomly came across this bottle carrier yesterday, and it looks interesting:

I could see Tim P using these to turn his bikes into extra wine storage.

Don't slow down too fast or that bottle will keep moving forward

Still have one of these around but no quill stem to put it on. Works much like that Minoura, however it's easy to take off if it's not needed.

Looking at a video that shows how it works, the straps have a grippy rubber surface, which is how they can hold onto a seat tube. So if you're xarrying a water bottle on the seat tube, I don't think it would slip out that easily to take a drink while riding. Once the bottle in the downtube cage is empty, you'd have to stop to swap the bottles.

I like the twofish solution the best and that's what I have adopted.

Keith pal, that won't be necessary, I usually have someone do that for me...

The nice thing about this one is that it doubles as a hot-water bottle.

I know it can get a might bit warm down your way but...that bike is obviously designed to be ridden with one or fewer bottle. My 2011 is built with OS tubes and two sets of bottle bosses so I ride it with two bottles. Yours isn't. So don't.
Beautiful bike. What a pairing eh. RS & JB.
