Did my Campagnolo Centaur shifter bust a gut?
So I went to shift into a lower gear and then it just stopped working.. cable seems good ( pretty new) . Strangely I can still dump the cassette with the thumb button. I think something inside died. I was going to upgrade this bike to an 11 speed chorus group... maybe now is a good time. This group is 10 years old and has seen a LOT of miles and abusive cross racing FWIW.

Looks (and sounds) like it just needs an overhaul.
Remove, disassemble, lube, reassemble. And keep track of what goes where of course. |

the coil inside is either done or out of place. give it a reassembly and see how it goes.

I can also convert that 10s lever to 11s.. NO NEED to replace the whole thing..

Thanks for the pitch and for those who say, 'no small parts available'..not true for 'some' of 'us' that buy an assembly(even UltraShift ones) and cannibalize for the small parts. If ya do see the need to buy an assembly..send the 'busted' one to me..I can always use the other small parts..I pay for shipping..

off topic but does anyone feel that Shimano stuff became more reassemble-able than Campy stuff? Nowadays it's hard as hell to get a spare parts for campy stuff but it was really easy for me to get every small thing I needed for DA stuff while I was in Japan. They literally had every single thing on technical manual on amazon.jp

If it has a part number(and now, even shift guts that don't) are easy for me to get..either thru Campag NA or other sources.
