I have found the new 5000 series to be smaller than The printed size. My rims are 19 to 21 inside on 5 bikes This could be my psi 25 mm max 75 psi 28/32 mm 60 max psi 25 mm max size 24.6mm 28 mm max size 27.2 mm 32 mm max size 31.2 mm I have about 10,000 to 15,000 on the new Version I think they roll great with latex tubes no extra flats from 4000 series. Just anecdotal, but I have 5Ks and have been riding the same ones since last summer on smooth roads, bump roads, and some accidental gravel. Haven't had a flat or sidewall issues yet. They're the TDF edition ones, but I don't think that makes a crazy difference.

Are you measuring new tires? They stretch out after a while and then would measure wider than new. |

Interesting the sidewall paint adds 30g of weight to the sides. Maybe it's the paint giving that extra bit of protection other than that claims are no difference?

On Belgium +, I’m measuring 29.45mm with 28 gp5000 non-tl, 33+mm on the same rims with the 32 non-tl. The rims are 20.9 inside width. I have 1500 mi on the 32 gp5000’s and the wear indicators show plenty of tread left but I weigh 145 in riding gear. I’m planning to try 30mm corsa controls next.

I just ordered a few more Strada tubeless tubular 30s. Going to try on my T11-MajTom CX wheels on my Domane Classics after I wear out the 28 GP4ks. Maybe before. M_D_S put a loose 28mm GP4k in the mail for me, having a 3rd should stretch out use/miles before all gone. ;} Thanks for that Michael. |

Decided to grab new tires today. Got some pirelli p zeros to try out in a 28. They look a bit bigger than the contis. Hopefully front clearance is ok.
Ride report in a few weeks. |

There a few states away Stans Grail TL wheels not tires first years pretty sure 20 mm inside. They don’t seam to grow like the 4000 but I will say I don’t Measure at their end of life. I just got so use too running one size smaller than manufacturers recommended with the 4000s. GOM |

Went for a ride on the pirellis. Made it 100 ft and realized that they are too big and not enough fork clearance. So be warned that they are bigger than conti 28s.

Reviving this thread with a very similar request to th OP. I’m finally running through my stock of Continental GP4000S II tires in size 700x23. On 19mm (internal) width rims, they measure just over 27mm at 80-90 PSI. For my purposes, the GP4000S II was the ideal fast road racing/training tire. They proved reliable, comfortable, and fast (or as fast as my old legs could spin them…).
I’m seeking recommendations for a replacement tire with similar performance and reliability. I’ve tried the GP5000, but the 23s measure 25mm and the 25s are too tall, providing almost zero clearance on some of my bikes. Thanks, Greg |
