Bixxis Pathos titanium frame
The Bixxis Pathos is their titanium road bike. Handmade in Italy by Doriano De Rosa.
Made using a custom Reynolds double-butted tubeset and exquisitely tig welded, Doriano has created a do-it-all road frame. With custom oversized chainstays, offering the Pathos frame can handle a 700x28c tire easily. Custom 6/4 CNC machined dropouts continue to add stiffness and strength in its design. A 6/4 headtube, bottom bracket and small fitting are standard. The Pathos is available in two toptube styles: traditional and sloping. With stock and custom geometry available. The Pathos uses a Chis King D11 headset as standard. With its longer head cup flanges for better rigidity. Yes, you can use a different headset. But with the color options and a lifetime warranty, would you want to? The stock fork for the Prima is the Pegoretti FALZ. Designed by Dario Pegoretti and made exclusively for them, the FALZ has the looks of a classic steel crown with the lightweight and amazing ride and responsiveness of carbon. Available in stock and custom geometry as well as stock and custom finishes, the Bixxis Pathos is a riders dream. Retail for the Pathos is $4750. This includes custom geometry and finishes within reason of course. Lead time is about 12 weeks currently. It will include a headset, seat collar, cable adjusters and a PMP Titanium seatpost. We will have the Pathos in Booth 318 at NAHBS in August. Make sure to stop by to check it out and meet Doriano and Martina De Rosa. Last edited by Velocipede; 03-23-2020 at 06:04 PM. |

Probably my favorite finish on the Pathos. Very simple and clean looking. I love light blue with white panels so this is right up my alley.

i'm guessing "height" and "length" refer to seat tube C-T and top tube C-C for the "regular and ETT for the slopers?

Correct Sir. I need to redo their chart to read a bit easier. This is straight from them.

The workmanship adding the leather panels is exquisite.

Totally agree. Such an awesome look - just enough paint to stand out from every other Ti frame but not so much as to distract from the natural beauty of the metal or workmanship.

One thing I’ve noted among various Italian builders: the geometry charts often don’t specify head tube angles-only seat tube angles. For Bixxis do they vary by frame size, or what? Are they all 73 deg for all sizes by default?
Seems the same fork rake (45) is specified across the board. |

Same with the 45 rake. The Falz fork has 2 rakes- 45 and 50. In keeping with a lively yet comfortable ride, Doriano chose the 45mm rake. Obviously you can opt for a different fork. Enve is of course the go to for most builds. I actually like the Columbus forks a lot. Very comfortable and not too stiff. But if you wanted a frame without a fork, that's an option as well. |

If you were measured or sent him his specific measurement points, he builds a geometry around that. What I signed off on was well within the usual fit numbers I'm used too. I trusted him 100% to build me what I think a bike should ride like, and that is what I got. Doriano knows bike design and has the skill to put it all together. |

This BiXXis Pathos was made for a client in Kentucky. It's a fully custom geometry frame and the finish is like the one from the review. It's getting a custom titanium stem in a brushed finish to match the frame.
A Falz Fork, Chris King headset with matching spacer kit, PMP titanium seatpost, brushed finish of course. It'll be built with a Campagnolo Super Record mechanical kit. The parts were originally on a Jaegher that the owner was hit by a car on. Even with the 1 month lockdown in Italy, Doriano was able to get this beautiful custom titanium frame ready in 4 months. Just 1 month over the quoted time. Looking forward to getting this in the States next week. |
