Question about clamping force on the rails for those with Berk saddles. I just got a Dila with oval rails and underneath it is stamped 5nm. I’m assuming that is the max clamping force you should exert on the rails to hold in place? But what if you’re using a seatpost that states on the cradle/rails that it should be tightened in the range of 10-15nm to prevent saddle slippage? Talking about the newer models like the Enve/sworks/hylix/Zipp/etc. Not sure what to go by here, but certainly don’t want to snap the rails on the saddle!

I rode a buddy's 18lb Cannondale 29er with a Berk Saddle last week for a bit (swapping bikes on the fly). It was amazing how comfortable it was with the bit of flex given, noticeable at first and then even more noticeable when I had to get back on my bike. I am digging in more, but 'wow'..

That is positively incredible. Less than 9 lbs for a road bike.

Gorgeous piece of engineering,m fun to admire.

How do those brakes work from a performance standpoint? I've always liked 'em just for their looks, but have read about how finicky they are to set up and so many horror stories about customer service with that company (Ciamillo) that I've stayed away.

I've had Ciamillo's in the past with no issues, and while his new brakes are stunning, I too am reluctant given all the negative feedback. Everyone deserves a second chance though. While I love the modulation of Cane Creek's eebrakes, along with Ciamillo's past efforts, after riding Dura-Ace brakes on my Cryptic frame, they are my new standard-and I'm a Campy guy

Thanks for the color. Have read the Gravitas stop very well but aren't great for modulation. While I'm sure I could figure it out, and for majority of my riding it wouldn't really matter, but modern big mfgr. brakes (Sram, Campy, Shimano) are just so darned good with progressive modulation I've gotten spoiled.

Drift.....have been using Gravitas brakes for a few years now on my Crumpton. Fantastic braking and one finger modulation when used with Campy Bora's (machined brake tracks) and of course Campy's excellent red brake pads.

No bare naked Berks in the demo program? As a long time AX Lightness Apollo user (on the Crumpton) I'm curious to see how the Berk Lupina compares.

Not a big seller unfortunately. I ride a bare carbon on one of my frames as well. What size bare naked are you looking for. I have a 150 I can send out if that fits.
