Looking forward to seeing this set up with the EEs and ENVEs. The silver wheelset looks classy but I'm expecting the black EEs and ENVEs to look badass with that paint scheme.

Me too! Tires wise, I have GP5K STR with those darker brown walls, rather than tan. I’ll keep them for now and see how it looks with the 2.2s.

I JUST ordered the brakes! I'm sure CC is going to fun shipping all those BF deals out!

Got the eeBrakes and 2.2s installed at Red Lantern Cycles! This will be first time rocking carbon wheels, so I’m curious how it rides. Weight wise, I don’t think it’s that much lighter that my WI/Velocity set.

I’m still meh on the brown walls on these GP5Ks! I know it’s a nitpick.

If anyone has a set of all black GP5ks they want to trade, lmk!

Good taste in wheels and brakes. It should have dropped your weight by at least 1/4 pounds.

So sweet, bud!

Here's what I think you may feel...or at least what I've felt when going between alloy wheels* and carbon. I think you'll mostly feel an immediate pick up in acceleration and speed as carbon wheels are "stiffer" (in a good way). It'll be like adding a bunch of watts to your jump. With that, I'm betting you may also feel an uptick in steering/turning performance when on a fast, twisty descent. Also attributed to the stiffer wheels.

Sure, they are likely a hair lighter, but that may or may not end up being felt.

I hope you enjoy them, and report back.

I'm super jealous of where you live this time of year. You saw our OR riding this summer. Now, it's icey with a 50 degree piss down coming hard on it's heels. Your riding is superlative this time of year for the next 4-5 months over our sodden options up here.

*great alloy wheels like yours, and like what I've had, are nothing to sneeze at. However, they don't have the performance/jump of carbon. There's a reason folks ride carbon wheels....it's not ALL vanity. You have the stomp in your legs that you'll feel said difference on the first hard acceleration.

Latest set up looks sick! I was skeptical on the brown walls on your bike but it actually looks quite nice. Agree that black sidewalls will look a bit better though.

I was pretty disappointed after seeing the forecast for next week. I've got next week off and had big riding plans. Hoping for a couple of dry windows to get out for a bit. Otherwise it's indoor trainer time.

Thanks dude! Right, I forgot about the other benefits of riding carbon wheels!

Yeah, I’m truly thankful we have this kind of weather in CA. Sometimes it gets wet or cold, but at least I know there’s a break.

Looking forward to riding and sharing my experience. Stay warm and dry up there!

Thanks Drew! I think it looks much better outside under natural light, but I couldn’t help it and ordered to Veloflex tan walls!

I keep saying this, but we should go on a ride sometime!

Thanks! I always wanted shallow carbon wheels on a build. Clean39t had a deal I couldn’t pass up and I know he always takes care of his stuff.

The brakes! CC had a BF sale I couldn’t pass up! It’s too bad I couldn’t find the same deals for the El Patino finish! I’m really curious how much better these feel compared to my TRPs, which were great too.

Rain in NorCal this next week? That's some BS right there! I am flying down to see my kids and was hoping to log is big miles!!!!

Back on topic - the EE brakes look great! Definitely my favorite road brakes! Wheels look great too, but I am with you on the tires. They aren't blowing my skirt up. Now some tanwall Veloflex, that might do it.

Coming off the holidays; illness and crazy weather in the Bay Area, I’m starting to ride more.

Some recent upgrades and changes include: short reach alum bars, which replaced carbon ones. Installed the eeBrakes with carbon pads to go along with the ENVE 2.2s. The last few rides have been fine tuning things. The 2.2s have deflection issues, but if I ride more, the less noticeable it’ll rub against the pads. I had to also adjust the rear hub preload a bit. Last but not least, figure a way for the crank preload to stay.

Also got a set of Veloflex tires! They look perfect and from what little miles I’ve ridden, the grip seems great!
