Yet another Moots Vamoots CR

For the longest time, I always wanted to know how much my bike weighed. I got lazy and didn’t put the eTap batteries on:

I’m surprised it weighs this much. Not that it’s heavy but I would have guessed 16ish lbs or slightly less.

Bike can drop 1 pound using different wheels but he chose to use aluminum rims and heavy but solid hubs. That’s just my take.

That was my guess, but was hoping it was a tad lighter. I have a set of 2nd Gen ENVE 2.2s on hand. I’ll probably swap the tires over to them and use TPU tubes. That will probably drop it a little.

I had an RSL that was this size for a few years and over that time it had a large number of different wheels and group sets installed and I don’t recall it ever being over 16 lbs. I’m wondering how different the weight is between the CR and RSL?

I’m guessing since the RSL is the highest end, the frameset is probably lighter than the Vamoots CR.

If I had to guess the weight difference is around 1/4 pound. Most weight saving comes with group choice and wheels, then bars, stem and post.

Pedals can also weigh a lot but now we are going for weight solely?

No, lightweight is only a nice to have. I like the aesthetics of the build, quality of components and reliability too.

I’ll probably lose a little bit with the other wheelset I have.

Needs some titanium chainrings to match the spider and crank. Boone can help you out!

I’m ok with these Stronglight rings. They fit my build theme and seems to shift well too.
