I look at the work that Firefly has done finishing Ti, and it’s just to show you can paint, anodize and still display the beautiful welds of this material.

I’m looking forwarding riding this summer and snapping more photos too.

Oof, thank you very much! I’ve had this build in my head for a while. When I saw eeWing cranks, I just knew the updated build had to evolve around it.

On Instagram I use their save feature as a scrape book to gather all the details of builds I like as well, and just wondering if all those details would look cohesive.

You knocked it out of the park! That eewing crankset is the shiz! I wanted to use it on my Alliance but it wouldn’t quite work for the 2x and tire clearance I was after. Someday I’m hoping that Moots Compact SL in my size becomes available again as I think it would be a great candidate for this crankset.

Not into painted ti frame
But damn you nailed it

The white seems to balance it all
Sometimes I cringe over too much ti and or silver
But here it all blend in together very strongly

Saying that as a proud vamoots cr 2011 owner

Thank you for the very kind words! When the Mechanic first brought the bike out, I was so satisfied!

Yet another Moots Vamoots CR

Update:

Found a local route that’s been my go to default. The descent if you keep momentum up, can hit 40 mph easily. The Quil / WI wheel set with RH tires feel great! The whole bike just feels rock solid. Need to see how it feels on more technical roads, like Mt Hammy.

I dialed in the bar angle, had to tweak the saddle tilt a little and unfortunately had to ditch the classy perforated Fizik tape. I’m spoiled with cushy and super tacky Lizard Skins. If anyone knows a perforated wrap that’s similar to LSs, let me know!

Drivetrain; I gave it a good wash and used UFO Drip and it’s really quiet and shifting is very smooth!

Wow that looks great.
Love the white paint instead of the usual battleship grey.
Good choice on the wheels, I almost built a set with Quill's but the price was kind of high and went with Kinin XR22T instead.

Love that paint and painted fork. I know a 60 year old masters racer that wont paint a ti frame cause of weight. I tell him I dont mind, Im 5000 grams over race weight anyway.

With so many great Ti builds in the US, I wanted to differentiate my build from the usual blasted Ti + black carbon fork combo.

At the same time, I wanted something timeless and classic. The rear and bottom portion are kept Ti as I think there’s where most the wear and tear will happen.
