The Veloflex tires look FANTASTIC! Almost as good as that view!

Deflection issues = not good. I can just imagine riding with friends going uphill, then having to get out of the saddle and having the rear brake rub. That would just suck away any joy that I had for the wheels.

Thanks! Sooo much better than brown walls!

Deflection, when the pads were brand new, it was still pretty subtle. Now after doing some rides, it’s not very noticeable.

I talked myself in joining a few friends to do a Bay Area tour late spring. Two of them I did Cycle Oregon’s Classic ride. The route we did in Oregon was def much more gradual compared to some climbs around here. Thinking about the following updates:

- 11-34t cassette with specific length chain
- Cayuse Pass EL casing tires

Now that I have two wheelsets, one with a inner width of 18.5mm and the other 21mm, I’d like to experiment going tubeless and getting close to fitting 28mm tires

Really nice bike. Any thoughts on the eewings? I've considered these for the road but am curious about q-factor/etc.; similar feel to Shimano/Sram/Campy?

Appreciate it!

I was initially worried about the wider Q-factor, so I kept my original cranks. It’s been over a year since riding with them, and I honestly can’t tell the difference. Maybe my body slowly acclimated to them.

Everyone is different obviously.

My road cranksets are all at a q-factor of ~148mm
My MTB boost crankset is at a q-factor of 168mm

I go back and forth and don't notice it. It's been said before that q-factor is a red herring.

Yet another Moots Vamoots CR

Just finished 7 days of riding around the entire Bay Area.

Fitness: Trained exclusively indoors with TR, and did an occasional 50ish mile ride with friends.

Bike: Found a 0 degree Easton stem, and slapped on the short reach Specialized bar, and tilted my saddle 1/2 a degree. Threw my silver alum wheelset back on and managed to squeeze 28mm Veloflex. To prepare for the insane amount of climbing, I tossed on an Ultegra 11-34t cassette, which worked pretty well without much adjustment with the A2 eTap RD. Finally, rocked a small bar bag for some extra storage and get stuff out of my jersey pockets.

Couldn’t be more happier how the bike felt!

This build is so good. Love painted Ti with a the "high traffic" zones as bare metal. Looks like an amazing ride.

Looking good, bub! Bike still is a stunner. I still remember pedaling behind you and enjoying the looks of the bike and those wheels.

Thanks! It’s been maybe 1.5 years since I got it re-finished! That was the goal with where I wanted to leave it raw, as the Ti is much more durable than paint, but I wanted something different from most Ti builds.

Between you and others who used TR, I’m glad I made that decision!
