Received mine last week and started the build, replacing my Genesis Croix de Fer as a winter bike/commuter.
Looking forward to move away from discs and di2 on this one, and have a bike that works all winter, without half a brake working, and batteries that crap out all the time in the cold. Going to set it up with the new Ultegra, and 45mm Black VO fenders over 45nrth Xerxes studded tires. http://forums.thepaceline.net/attach...1&d=1507614376 |

Built this up over the weekend and took it out today for a 40 mile multi-surface shakedown ride. This is my first "road" bike in, I don't know, a decade, after having CX and rando bikes as my main road-going bikes. I love how settled it feels, and I immediately felt very comfortable on it. It's a great all around bike.

Thanks!
The tires are 33mm Supple Vs, extra light. They measure up about 30-31mm on the 23mm wide TB14 rims. They ride super nice, are ridiculously light, and the rubber is very soft and sticky. Highly recomend as an alternative to the Compass offerings. The rear derailleur is just a standard long cage Sram Rival, no clutch. It shifts pretty well and can handle the 46/28 crank and 11-32 cassette, which can take me over any hill in Wisconsin ![]() |

Great looking bike! How are you getting a 28 tooth inner ring on those cranks?!

The OX601 is a double crank with a 110bcd outer ring and 74bcd inner. The smallest ring that fits on 74bcd is a 24t, so you could theoretically go even smaller.
