Proper photoshoot of the Gianni Motta

The winter shots were ok but these are better and I captured a whole lot more of the details this time. Still haven't ridden it. I want the replaced knee and my legs working properly the first time I take this beauty out. This was a NOS frameset from a guy oversea's collection. It's not mint but pretty good for an 80's bike.

Great photos of an awesome looking bike. Curious to see how it fares on the 19mph test.

Curious to see if I can even get there this year, LOl!

I just killed myself on the Colnago C40 this morning for 20 miles. Finished with a 15.9 mph avg although there was a strong wind on the return leg.

Between the long winter and the knee replacement I am riding like a wimp right now. My quads have no fire in them at all....shameful.

Always love looking at your bikes-reminds me if the good old days when bikes were beautiful and they all didn’t look alike.

Great build. I love it. I have had my eyes out for a Motta for some time. Had this colorway popped up in my size, no way I could have resisted!

Yep, I've been searching for years for one of the US Flag themed Motta's in my size. When I stumbled on this I could not resist.

I've gotten a few more rides in on this one including last night. In my opinion it feels better and faster under me than the Merckx Corsa 01 I rode over the same route the day before.

Legs are getting better so hopefully this one will be in the "19 mph club" soon.

This bike is 2 lbs heavier than the Merckx with 3 less gears in back, a "lesser" set of wheels, and less preferred saddle yet the Motta feels like the superior bike as of now. I've had a few back to back sessions on both bikes to do the comparison.

I ran a 18.4 mph avg on it yesterday for a little over 27 miles despite a lot of wind. Was at 19.8 mph avg about 10 miles in but the headwinds later killed the pace. I'm pretty sure on a cool, calm morning ride I can get more out of this one now that the speed (relative to my old legs, LOL!) is slowly returning.
