Garmin Mount for Campy bike - solved
Replaced my old Touring model with a 1030.
I had SRAM computer mounts on all my bikes. All bikes have Campy brifters. No problems. New 1030 requires more space between mount center and bars/stem. Picked up a Garmin Extended Out-Front Mount. There is so much material on the mount that it interferes with the front brake cable. I’m looking at carving some plastic away to clear the cable housing or drilling a hole to route cable through. Has anyone else encountered this? Remedy? Last edited by Plum Hill; 09-17-2020 at 10:04 PM. |

I’ve got Garmin mounts on all of my Campagnolo bikes. No brake cable issue.
Edit: all sounds strong. Two. But I have had the same mounts on several prior builds never an issue. Last edited by thirdgenbird; 09-17-2020 at 09:33 PM. |

Problem solved with a Dremel and some jewelers’ files.

It looks like that one sets lower than my Garmin mounts. Your solution looks well executed.

My friend told me there was no problem on her three bikes. All Garmin mounts on Campy bikes, but every mount is different.
*1030, due to it’s longer length, “requires” it’s own mount. Friend has the shorter 1000. A lot depends on the stem and stem plate bolts.* IMO this mount is severely overbuilt. Last edited by Plum Hill; 09-18-2020 at 10:56 PM. Reason: * * |

OT, but I like your finishing tape -- what is it?

They are likely building it for people like me who mount a headlight to the bottom and then take it off-road.

Finishing tape came with the Brooks Cambium rubber bar tape. |
