I am absolutely certain that this not the first time a Tour de France stage was won on clinchers with tubes. Riders have been using clinchers in time trails for years (since before tubeless became popular), and I'm pretty sure Tony Martin has won TdF TTs on clinchers.

Of course, thiis is now more than 25 years after Miguel Indurain used clinchers with tubes for certain stages on his way to winning the Tour de France (although he didn't use clinchers on the few stages he won).

Also of note, it is now 23 years since the toughest single day race, Paris-Roubaix, was on clinchers with tube (Fredric Guesdon, 1997).

I thought about that too. Any day could be the last. I hope it is not so because today’s stage was sure fun to watch. Those crazy switchbacks—new bucket list ride.

I just caught up on the stage, absolutely awesome looking route today. Can’t wait to get back to the EU to ride.

Like clinchers, not the first Tdf stage win with one:

...good news, you dont have to be a tier 1 cyclist, formula one driver or hollywood celeb. You can get this one which comes with a “free” Colnago C64

https://www.cyclist.co.uk/news/3619/...-cycling-watch

... bad news- not Garmin, Strada compatible

Caleb Ewan is 5 foot 5 inches tall.

His thighs are enormous.

I'll say==through the traffic like they were road furniture, lights it up, Bennett moves him off-line a little, and he still goes by and gets about 3/4 of a bike at the line!

(Glad the weather was better and the bunch is settling down so we don't have to talk about crashes!)

The winner of sprint stages like today should get a huge bonus for the green jersey. THAT'S A TRUE SPRINTER.
