Cycling Board games
I was thinking of buying La flamme Rouge. Was checking it out on boardgamegeek.com and I came across this website - http://www.cyclingboardgames.net/cyclogames.htm. Wow talk about a niche website. Quite comprehensive. Many of the games are of course european and many of the newer ones are out of print.
The variety of artwork is cool of course. Some are cheesy. Does anyone have an opinion on Flamme Rouge or played any other of the boardgames. |

My youngest son, now 30, is into board games and has some appreciation for good design. He has only good things to say about it.
https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...t=Flamme+rouge Looks like it's currently available on Amazon as well for $46.04 delivered.

I recently bought Flamme Rouge after someone else here posted about it. Well designed and lots of fun. If anyone is familiar with the old game company Avalon Hill, they had an auto racing game with a similar design.

Avalon Hill
I played many of their games growing up. Some I had to invent ways to play solo. Mostly wargames. But I think I played their boxing game and horse racing game too.

Just got Flamme Rouge last week and have played it with my non-cycling wife and 7-year old granddaughter. Just the basic course layout for now. Both players picked up how to play quickly and are starting to see the tactics of bike racing (albeit in a board game format). The game is very well thought out and I’m amazed at the similarities between the game and the real thing. There are a lot of cards to deal with, but once you play a race or two it gets easy enough. I highly recommend it. Check out the expansion packs too.
