I can't tell, does your Seven have fender bosses throughout? looks like the fork has eyelets but I can't tell at the dropouts and can't see chainstay or seatstay bridges. if it doesn't have all of these, it'll for sure be a tricky install. |

+1 SKS
Their plastic stay release gadget has saved me from crashing with branches etc in the spokes riding in the dark a bunch of times. Their set comes with them for the front, I use them front and back. Your LBS can order them separately. Even if you don't use SKS (and you should), at least get those things, you can use them with any fender. Last edited by Andreas; 09-12-2019 at 01:25 PM. Thanks! Had fenders on my "think-about" list, and your post was all I needed to hit the REI "buy" button for a pair in gunmetal for my new Alliance. Just received the "shipped" email (being enjoyed in the Echelon Wheelworks pint glasses you sent me a couple years back ) |

When you see your friend rolling over some branches, tipping on his bike and suddenly the fenders disconnect, this is not speculation.... Better safe than sorry is for me key when I bike with fenders. Too much debris etc....in the winter that you cannot even see because of the rain. |

When you take the time to install VO fenders correctly you go the extra mile and run the tail light wire under the fender (aluminum tape) and drill an exit hole with a grommet. Bike shops are not dead yet.

I have been very happy with VO fenders and prefer them to SKS which are much less rigid requiring more tire clearance than VO/Honjo/Berthoud/etc. Best fenders IMO are Berthoud, bonus points for their low profile stays which I use on all front fenders when toe overlap may be an issue.
VO has 20% off fenders through the 22nd. |

For you metal fender users with 5mm stays, PDW makes safety releases,
you can buy separately. https://ridepdw.com/collections/cust...t=24829153601# |

Are SKS the silver plastic ones? If so, I had a pair on my Allrounder and they were TOUGH, needing no maintenance or adjustment for all the years I used them. Not as pretty as the hammered steel offerings though.

SKS has plenty of fenders. Usually black or silver. https://www.sks-germany.com/en/produ...ies/mudguards/ |
