I've had a Thomson on my Mtb for a few years now with no issue.

Campagnolo asymmetric seatpost clamps are very good.

The Salsa lip lock is my go-to but just got a Phil Wood clamp that is also excellent. My Zanc came with a Thomson and it has been fine for a few years now.
The key is to get one that has a stainless barrel that the screw threads into; not into the alloy clamp itself. A good amount of surface area to grip is good too; and the Salsa excels here.

Get a campagnolo one. Just be carefull with the torque. They last very long time.
