Hed or Boyd

Ok - I decided to go Aluminum for this build - original thread here:https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=276303

Which would you pick 650B wheelset

Hed Emporia GA Performance for $525.00 1600g immediate delivery

Hed Emporia GA Pro for $675.00 1560g immediate delivery not sure they are worth the premium

Boyd CCC $543.75 1475g up to 4 weeks delivery assuming they are in stock Monday for their sale

I like both Boyd and Hed

Help

HED makes their own rims, Boyd not so much, no contest. Own a set of these, light, durable and pretty to look at. https://hedcycling.com/products/empo...0ELT-4123121-M

Rolf Hyalite CS. They cost more and they're worth it:

Oops, they don't have 650B in that model.

HEDs are 20% off right now with HEDHolidays-20.

That would heavily influence my decision.

HED, no question about it.

I've had some "issues" Boyd. Do not want to elaborate too much but I would go with HED every single time. Own a pair of HED carbon fat bike wheelset. They have been superb. And every time I call HED to ask them technical questions on their rims/hubs, the CS experience has been exemplary.

No experience with Boyd, but I have been using the Hed Emporia GA Performance wheels on my gravel bike for a while now and they have been great. Still true as the day as I got them, and the hub bearings are very smooth.

My Boyd, rim brake CF wheels have been faultless. I'm planning to pick up a pair of CCC wheels on Monday.

Boyds are nice, HEDs are the best.

For the same or similar price would go HED every time.

The Emporia rim looks really nice with thoughtful design choices. The CCC looks nice as well, although more generic design but admirable weight savings.

I just got my HED GA Pros yesterday. Going to mount tires this weekend......Didn't think twice about pulling the trigger on them.
