I've found similar V shape brake bridge designs on 1990s Italian frames and a Perkins. I agree w/the non-Serotta conclusions.

It's a puzzle mystery.

Thanks for your input.

Hello and thanks everyone for your feedback. Would it be odd for a Serotta bottom bracket shell to have a service port?

I found a Basso Loto frame w/similar seat stay attachment to seat post binder. https://www.ebay.com/itm/27244937603...4AAOSwcUBYKdZQ.

And I emailed an italian ebay seller that said, "probably Basso."

Still not certain what this is.

Basso frames would have the B logo on the brake bridge, I'd think.

The Basso I had in the past had the curved winged brake bridge and on the left and right side on the brake bridge was the "B" stamped on either side
Also the B in Basso is supposed to be a play on the letter B
There's three Basso brothers and they played with the B to look like a 3
That's what's known as the 3b logo

Based on an eBay sale, Basso Coral, not all Basso's were stamped. But definitely something to look for.

Is it worthwhile to sand the bottom bracket area to find the serial number?

Wish I could rename this thread Frankenbike. Took 2 separate hour long rides today. After swapping out the wheels, bars, etc. Feels sweet on the bike trails, especially the rolling nicely over cracks.

Still enjoying my Frankenbike. I posted pics on Classic Rendezvous (CR) to get their input. Interesting to me they think it’s likely an American frame builder that used a Japanese BB w/English thread.

The CR guys say bottom bracket shell like my frankenbike where used by “… Holland, Tesch, & Davidsons.” The symbol on the shell indicates Hitachi is the maker.

I found a Tesch pic on a paceline post w/the same BB. But nothing w/the fastback seat stay mounts…

Mystery continues

Good closeup photos of all the lugs, dropouts, etc. might help identify the frame.

The way the chainstays are brazed to the dropouts looks like Serotta to me. Are the seat and down tubes constant diameter? Looking like a Nova Special to me.
