As much as I hate to admit it, it's gotta be Lewandowski. Robbed (pun intended) of it last year when he won a continental treble, only to follow it up with some brilliant individual performance. No one more deserving.

Ahhh - not sure. Of course I am rooting for Jorginho, but Benzema requires some strong support.
As an aside (and a homer), how was Chiesa left off that list?

You know, I originally typed a bantering sentence about him but decided to delete it. But since you brought it up...

Nah, I'll still stay quiet about it

Jorginho had a wonderful season, no doubt. I'm just not sure that it was he who contributed to a large share of the success of his club and national teams.

Chiesa is just a tad too inconsistent to be deemed top tier. 8 G + 8 A in ~2,200 minutes is very good but not great. But otherwise, I think he'd be on that short list in a few years. Also, he's still on the books of Fiorentina?

Watford v Liverpool Saturday early match
First one with the Tinkerer in charge for the Hornets
Just hoping the Golden Boys don't embarrass themselves

Sigh.
Going to be a long season for Watford. At least they are not Norwich (or Burnley.....).

Well, Watford gave LFC a royal beating the last time they met at Vicarage Road, and LFC is down two or three starters. Doubt your lads will embarrass themselves.

What do you think of Ranieri?

And BVB takes a helluva beating...

I know BVB's defense is as stout as the Maginot Line, but it still takes some serious firepower (and defensive prowess) for Ajax to win 4-0 at home.

Ajax is probably a good dark horse candidate this year. I hope Ajax goes far into the knock-out stage.

Even after that beat down by Liverpool, I think he might be the right guy for the job. Watford doesn't have the depth or quality last time they were in the Premiership, so they will have to be organized and tactically better.

Xisco was a good coach but tactically not at the premier level (he needs more experience). I watched Watford play a couple times so far this season under him & thought they were unprepared and didn't adapt well. Ranieri should be better in that department.

And that was after the BVB's keeper made some great saves!

I know. Could have been 7 or 8 for Ajax.
