Yup - score could have easily been 3-1. Reinforcements will make a difference.

Dos a Zero

Well I think that 3 times in WCQ qualifying the US has beaten Mex when they played in OH by "Dos a Zero". Granted those games were in Columbus and a couple of those games were in Feb So I just want to tilt the field in our favor.

I see a little Dempsey in Hoppe. Willing to try the audacious. Hopefully he gets there.

I hear you - me too!
Hoppe is a big kid and still soooo young - tons of potential and good games/goals to come.

Similar to Dempsey, Hoppe has an edge to him. Hoping that he can harness that edge better than Dempsey did, as Dempsey had a reputation for letting his emotions get the better of him.

As for locale, I'd preferred something even further north. St. Paul, MN sounds just about right (and I'd gladly drive four hours to watch the match).

Really Columbus in the right place to host most USMNT matches -- especially against the El Tri. Lots of great history there. Very pro-USMNT crowd always shows up & is loud. No chance of the visiting side having a large presence there.

Personally I would love Portland's Providence Park replace their artificial turf & get real grass so that they could host USMNT matches. That crowd is VERY loud and could potentially be a fortress for the USMNT.

Yup - Columbus definitely has the mojo.
Portland and Seattle fans are loud and always into it.
Philly probably another good place.
So, should USMNT have a designated home stadium (as other countries do)?

Donno the answer to this one, but whatever it is, it has to be done in such a way that the opposing fans don't predominate (like the ways things tend to happen when a match between USMNT and El Tri is hosted in LA or Las Vegas, or how how CR fans overtook Red Bull Arena in NJ four years ago).

Otherwise, any time a qualifier is hosted in a major venue (say the old RFK, which was the de facto national stadium for a while), it's a lot more likely that the fans are split half-and-half (if not worse).

Pulisic & Reyna both out for the November matches.

Bleah. The kids are going to have to carry this in the interim.

Those two are kids as well... and here i thought Reyna could possibly make it.

Bugger, just when MNT starts to have nice things, it gets Concacafed...

Oh holy s***, GGG is no longer behaving like a crazy fox. This line-up is about as rational as it gets.
