Yeah. Unless anyone has seen a busted frame anodized by Leni Fried as a start, I would not be worried:

Thanks. Joe does a phenomenal job. He loves working with titanium. Hopefully we are entering a frame for the weld competition at NAHBS. Tough to beat the Erikson tho.

They both offer some range of anodized finishes that look great.

From reading Seven's blurb it sounds like they're worried about cracking from the potential gas buildup and composition change which I would definitely worry about near/on the weld areas, but if you see where other builders are anodizing it is always right on the tubes where they should be strong enough to hold up and surrounded by "clean" Ti

I would be surprised that there are issues with gases and compromised welds. The material used to do ti anodizing is not harmful. The company in the US that supplies tons of jewelry and even us, you can put your hand in it. It's not harmful. Obviously you don't want to drink it.

Also its more a surface treatment than actually going INTO the metal like alloy anodizing is. I'd never read the Seven blurb about it. Not saying they are wrong. Just never heard of issues. And it's not like its a new thing.

Ti anodizing is a rapidly forced oxide layer. I can totally see how a tiny weld void could form a stress riser if an oxide layer is expanding inside it. When ti frames fail, it virtually always involves a weld, and probably something in that weld. I wouldn't anodize a ti weld.

Keeping to a clean section of unwelded tubing shouldn't be an issue, though.

Anyone who wants to put a logo on their Seven would be wise to polish it off prior to sending the frame in for warranty.

We do offer it for non-Enigma bikes/customers. It's not something we get a ton of call for outside of our builds. But I can certainly get something going for someone. I just did a violet titanium seat collar for a dealer in Minneapolis. Some colors look/work better on certain types of titanium. 6/4 is tougher for coloring certain colors than 3/2.5. We posted on our site the colors that work best with which titanium type.

But yeah, we can totally do whatever.

To remove the anodizing you can do it with some strong degreaser and a rough rag. It's amazing how easy it is to remove it.

I've seen a few ti frames fail(none of ours mind you). Oddly, every one failed in the tubing, not the weld. Including a custom Merlin tri frame. The downtube failed around the tube.

Put the beefy WTB Nanos on the No.22 and rode in the woods to hide from the frosty wind on an abnormally cold morning. Still had my first frozen bottle of the season.

I wasn't sure how big a tire I could put on the Broken Arrow, as it's a full on CX bike. The 40s fit with tons of space. A 45 would fit fine.

This was a build for someone in Britain. Actually, a birthday present for the person. Ti anodizing on the headset spacer, seat collar, head badge and the frame.
