At the press conference for the intro, Campy reps admitted that some WT teams would continue to use the older gear ratios. The WT is a pretty conservative place, equipment wise. And not many of us big ring up steady 5-6% pitches like some pros.

I can big ring 6-8% grades, but my big ring is a 46. That's what happens when you're 70.

"CREATE SPEED" in huge block text on the DT? They can't do better than that to create some excitement for their brand?

I suspect if they really wanted to run the new chainrings P2M could have made it happen, but I have no idea on complications around manufacturing a powermeter so gotta give benefit of the doubt in the short term.
Even long term, it will be fun to watch what get's plugged in.

Pro teams have been swapping out kit based on need for ever - Angliru stages running triples // Crazy flat Spanish wind stages and big rings // Dead flat TT's etc).

Every substantial manufacturer has had to manipulate groups / Swap parts during the season.

I would have expected to see that catchphrase here. (photoshop)

Well, overnight at the Dauphine, AG2r rider Ben Oconnor dropped a chain towards the end of the stage.

I believe he's one of the ones riding wireless Super Record.

Could it be because of the non-standard rings, or perhaps something else...

To paraphrase Dave Stohler “everyone drops a chain….I just didn’t know”.

it's happening

SkyNet is now controlling your chain drop. Go downtube friction! Oh wait, you do not have the bosses for that. Clamp on bosses, the WRL of the future.

I’ve just placed an order for a custom build with the new SR Wireless. The compact cranks are a real challenge for me- call me old but road bikes just look goofy with compact cranks. Let’s see how the previous generation super record 12 crank in 53/39 plays with the new front mech.

What is the bike? I'll eventually be putting the group on a Cherubim Cento Racer.

Nice! I’ve got a cherubim racer on super record 11- love that bike.

I’m getting a woods built up with cento tubing, the owner is a fixture at my local cafe.

For me, I figure I can hide a 34 front easier than I can hide a 32 rear.
