New Shoes. Magic?

This weekend I got a new pair of Specialized Vent 7 Road shoes. Strapped them on and went for a ride. 22-23mph, barely any effort, these shoes are magic...
Then I turned around into a headwind

You got the Tailwind model. Get the Headwind model to go with them, and you'll be set.

And no, putting them on backwards won't work.

If you added aero socks, you could have hit 30mph.

That doesn't work. You will wind up going around in circles.

When you get to the turnaround point, turn your Silca socks inside out so the chevrons don't make you even slower.

BTW, These vent shoe are awesome. Light, comfortable, stiff, and great for the Florida heat. Really works to prevent sweaty feet.
