Stupid Thread: Your Next Bike Absent Financial Considerations

I've been sick this past week and haven't ridden. Something I've been contemplating (as I always do) is what I'd get next if I had a sudden influx of a large amount enough of money to rationalize purchasing another frameset. This isn't a purely hypothetical exercise as I cannot seem to ever get enough of bikes, and I will likely get another one at some point in the future. If I were to win multiple millions in the lottery in the near future, I probably would order another frameset, most likely either a Pursuit, Crumpton or Holland (though probably not a Parlee since the upcharge for custom geometry takes it over the edge).

So, what would you all do with a sudden influx of a large amount of money and the ability to buy anything?

Call up Carl Strong and say, money is not a consideration. He has my measurements.

Another thread had also been making me think about Pursuit. Those are sensibly priced when you compare them to what mass production bikes cost.

You violated your own premise.

Three or four 2022 61cm Crux's. One for riding; several others as oopsie-daisy back-ups.

A Ti/Carbon Firefly. Rim brakes. Or a NOS Serotta CSI in their Indy paint scheme.

Fair point, but this is not an exercise in being rational, though even irrationality has its limits. FWIW, I've owned various Parlee models since 2005.

Kind of boring but I would probably go for an Aethos with WW build.
Not sure It’s for me but I read so many good things about it.
But it will never happen.

With a big budget, you could have a lot of fun with that. The Aethos is a pretty interesting bike and probably the most interesting to me of production bikes at this point.
