Once you accept that most of what we do looks stupid from the outside, you can start to free yourself from aesthetic constraints.

Chain on the big ring for pictures tho.

Well, you are already failing cuz it's a steel frame and fork, silly thin head tube, no disc brakes..probably too many chainrings with 2...lots of other foo paws...is that rig even legal to ride?

Kidding, of course, sure they are old skool and kool, use them.

I pulled an old team bike out of storage recently. Even after removing the sponsor stickers, the thing still looks like a rolling billboard with graphics on the unpainted fork, seatpost, stem, bars, wheels, etc.

I’m having fun riding it, but there are plans to paint the fork and gradually de-logo the bits.

But ymmv and beauty is in the eye of the beholder: If you don’t mind the logo-look, don’t change a thing.

You only need to impress yourself.

Unless someone else is paying my bills, I don't give a rat's ass what they think. About anything.

OP:
Do these skewers look stupid?

Paceline:
The speed sensor is ugly.
The valve nut is ugly.
Chain should be on the big ring.
Tires should be blackwall, not tan.
Blue would be better.
Steel frame - fail.
Steel fork - fail.
Slim head tube - fail.
No disc brakes - fail.
Too many chainrings - fail.

Can’t tell without a photo of the full bike. From what I can see I would not use either set of skewers.

OP: Do whatever TH you want to do.

My opinion: the skewer levers aren't big enough to really matter a whole lot. I'd use what works (clamps) best, color be damned.
