Status of Chris King rim brake hubs?

It seems CK hubs are only available now in black or silver for the rim brake variety. Has CK given up on colors now I guess for us rim brake fans?

I've seen this with other items as well. For example, Salsa used to make their Flip-Off skewers in a variety of colors, but now only make black and silver. I suspect that this is due to the decreased demand for rim brake QR wheels/hubs.

Ouch…I was seeing signs Rim brakes might be surviving…but I’m still worried that the widespread industry support for them are going away

Really?

Widespread Industry support is long gone at this point.

I feel like we should be glad that they're being made at all these days!

I am sure that rim brake components will be available for quite some time - just not in the variety that they have been. For example, today you can still buy brand new threaded 1" forks for 27" rim brake wheels (and you can also still buy 27" wheels and tires to fit that fork). But that fork is only available in black, in one offset, and made of steel.

(And as far as the Chris King hubs that started this conversation - there's nothing preventing you from building a disc brake hub with a rim brake rim, and many hubs can be converted between QR axles and Thru-axles.)
