Look Keo blade pedals, float when there shouldn't be

I have a set of used Keo pedals that have float, even though I am using the black "no float" cleats.

I assume that something is worn that needs to be replaced.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue?

I have a set that that happened to, and eventually the cleat would pull out even with new cleats. I didnt really investigate the cause and replaced them.

My hope is there it's a replaceable part that needs replacing. Pedals have ti spindles. Just took them apart to re-lube the bearings, and then put on too much loctite, so I can't get them apart to salvage the ti spindles.

Hoping to not have to trash them.

If you like the pedals, I have a virtually new pair of Keo Blade Carbon pedals (not ti spindles) that used for a month or so, before moving to Dura Ace +4mm pedals.

Been planning on selling them at some point. Small scuff on one blade where I scraped a curb, but that is it.

Let me know if interested.....

Heat will loosen loctite.

I dont know if things have changed but Look never offered service parts or bearings, you could reuse the spindle and thats about it.

The places on the pedal where the cleat touches are worn out. Nose and back plate. As mentioned, heat will help loosen lactate..use the spindles elsewhere.

HA, speel chek..
loctite...

Just found out that this kit exists, so I ordered it. I will report back on if it solves the problem.

I have ridden Keo’s for several years. I have noticed “play” in brand new pedals. It was something I dealt with until I switched to the Assioma power pedals with Keo cleats or Dura Ace pedals on another bike.

UPDATE: Installing the new springs & back plates has FIXED the problem. It's like having new pedals again.

The only downside is that the backplates are blank and don't say "Ti" anymore.
