I don't think so. Do you have a wireless router in-house now? Do you have dead/weak spots? If so, a mesh system is likely to help provide better overall coverage.

In addition to size, house construction matters as well.

If your house is older with plaster walls (not drywall) you'll have more wifi interference. Same with concrete (but not as common in America).

Regardless, mesh is overall a better setup at a slightly higher cost.

Sounds like MESH is the way to go. Costco has a two unit Orbi for $159 and I know I can return it with no hassle if there is a problem.

Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 is about $100, covers all three stories of my 2,700 sq ft with no dead spots, plus my whole yard which is a whopping 1/3 acre. Seems to handle at least 3 devices streaming video from youtube or netflix simultaneously, plus 3 or 4 more surfing web sites or checking email.

I’ve used the Eero system for two years in our spread out, 3 story, 3500sf home. Our tablets get excellent WiFi in every room, basement, top floor bedroom, everywhere.

OP here....installed the Orbi system and it was a very easy install using their app. The improvement in performance was pretty phenomenal....going from 10 megabytes to 59 in the satellite location.....highly recommended.
