OR,

You could spend a few minutes and handle all of this on your own...

Really nice work Charles. Do you use a polishing wheel to speed up the process?

Check out that empty-looking tub of Mother's!

I think that with carefully-designed cage-plates, and using just a half-step set of chainrings, that a Nuovo Record rear derailer could be made to index a specific wide-range modern cassette (if the right indexing ring were also made up to work with everything).
SRAM's zero-slant CX rear derailer proves the concept at least.

Better yet, the best of the old Rally derailers would be an even better candidate, improving on the Record's ability to accommodate chainring-size difference.

Tweaking the actuation ratio could be done without disturbing the aesthetic, and would of course help improve motion accuracy between the shifter and derailer by minimizing the occurrance and effect of friction and cable/housing elasticity.

i doubt they want to make a kit that will ultimately be bought by upper middle aged dudes to hang on reenactment bikes that get ridden slowly to donut shops. i also doubt it would realistically sell well because the same (few) guys who really want new campy silver kit will undoubtedly complain about how it looks, no matter how it looks because they think the high water mark for bicycle components happened sometime in the seventies.

(is it positive attitude friday yet )
There is truth to this. the new silver Centaur finish was pretty nice imho, much more elegant than Potenza which looks a bit funny with the sandblasted matte sections. I also hated the dopey black logo's on recent Athena and Veloce cranks. My 10 speed silver Chorus group remains lovely and elegant while still very functional. My almost 20 year old group looks amazing and shifts beatifully imho.

Everyone was high in the 70's. How else do you explain Scooby Doo and the Pacer?

To me bikes were most beautiful in the late 80's early 90's. I didn't grow up admiring SR and never liked the appearance. I think it's what you grow up with that shapes your tastes. I also love early 2000's Aluminum bikes with carbon forks and campy record 10

Yep... Only way to get into the metal enough in a reasonable amount of time...

ALL of that could be done with a dremel, but it would NOT be a few minutes.

This is truth and cannot be debated.
