I've never owned a car without a manual transmission in 45 years.
If I get a rental on vacation it drives me crazy to not have a proper gearbox.

Farm kid here, so a manual on everything except the family car. Learned to drive on an old Allis Chalmers D12 with a hand clutch. I had a manual in at least 1 vehicle up until I sold my old PU when we moved to OR. MrsTR has a fear of manuals. Nowadays the only time I drive a manual is when I take TRjrs 1988 turbo rally project car out for a spin. He learned to drive on my old PU so he's comfy with a clutch too.

Angry

Gotta say that I've owned mostly manual transmission vehicles for the past 50 years. Two of our three current cars are still manuals. Whenever I'm driving an automatic my hand ends up the shifter but it has nothing to do.

I had an ‘01 Civic coupe that I really liked, but this was a fun one - the incomparable Geo Metro:

Two days ago, but that's only because I don't drive every day. I have two manual transmission Subaru Legacy wagons, a '96 in the garage, and a 2003 parked on the other side of the country. Previously also had a manual transmission '94 Subaru Loyale wagon. The only car that I've owned that didn't have a manual was a Prius.

Growing up, my entire family learned to drive stick shift at the same time when we got a first generation Acura Integra as the second or third family car, coming from auto transmission Volvo wagons.

Last time for me (driving a car, drove a pickup today) was when I took my '66 Olds to the local cruise in around 8 weeks back. I called to get it insured a day or two before the event, and it hasn't been out of the garage since. I keep thinking that I will get it out again but between weather and work it may not happen again this year.

Today….my Audi A3.

Have only ever had manuals, with the exception of a Chevy Tahoe I had for a couple years. I love driving a manual and will always have one.

This morning. I own three manual transmission vehicles: '19 VW GTI - Rabbit edition in THAT blue color; '03 Ford Ranger - beater pickup; '68 MG B that was my engagement present from my wife (She was gonna get a really nice ring so...). "What is a chrome bumper MG B, and are they expensive?" Now she drives it more than I do.
