WTB: My unicorn..back

I cannot believe I am saying this, but I am at the point where the bikes I have really tick off darn near most of the boxes or desires I have with cycling....BUT

there are two bikes I am looking for, one I know exactly where it is and know I get first dibs when it comes up for sale. (Warren promised!)

The second one I sold to XJAHX a few years ago and he flipped it. No issues there as I sold it, it became his and he did what he wanted to.

It was my team bike from IF with my signature apple painted on the fork. I built it up, rode it up and down the street to dial in shifting and braking and before I got to ride it...anything longer then a mile our air conditioner and furnace conked out. I sold it to purchase those new units. It was a bad time and I am sure there is the thread about it cached somewhere here.

If anyone on the off chance knows who might have it or anything along the lines of putting me into contact with the new owner I would greatly appreciate it.

I actually got the encouragement from my wife to find the two bikes that have our apple on them

This is the bike I am referring to.

Thanks I cannot find any pics with it cabled and with the green bar tape, but it was THE bike I had custom to me, in the GR team colors and was stoked to start that adventure with it.

I chose to sell it to be an adult, but I hated every minute of it and apparently am still bitter.

I did find my rapha cross bike after it literally went around the world, so i am hoping this pops up some day. Don't care what the paint looks like as long as it has the fork. That is where Chris painted the apple.

He even made my wife an I special IF pint glasses.

Yes, I know I am weird and sick, but I have a fever and the only prescription is more Indy Fab!

Yeah talked to IF about recreating it, but was told so many standards have changed they couldn’t do it. I would need thru-axels front and rear, flat mount discs, and no PF30 BB. Last is fine with me, but my guess is the cost with be waaaay more then when I bought this one.

Hence the friggin’ never ending search.

Xjaxx...

Wow memory lane - wonder what became of that guy? Years ago I "bought" a gold SV off him, was beyond psyched, waited three weeks then got a check in the mail but no SV and no explanation... just a hundred bucks in PP fees, man that guy was awesome!

GLWS amazing bike Dave!

Memories. Good old Xjahx... flipping a bike? No, couldn't possibly be...

I think he got religion (sort of) if I recall his last posts here.

And back to the topic. That is a gorgeous bike.

I really hope you find it. I adore IF's and yours (all of 'em, including this one!) are no exception.

I really wasn’t bashing Xjahx, it was the trail of where I knew it went. I am 99% positive he told me he was going to flip it. I needed money more then pride at that moment so I took what I could get. Anyway, we are a very broad community here and know a guy/gal who knows a guy/gal who might have some line on it.

I mean these are first world problems and no matter what our great friend Swoop said, I make emotional connections to my stuff. Personified pleasure I suppose.

Brother you sent me on this journey...this is all your fault.

Maybe I need to call Cecil and get my old 26er back!
