mounting a light to a MIPS helmet
With recent DST time change, I want to put a light on my helmet for trails after sunset, but there is no gap between the vents in my helmet shell and the MIPS layer under it (it is a Smith). I like the helmet and it wasn't cheap, so don't really want to buy another helmet. I know super glue is brittle, so assume that is not a good idea to mount the light bracket--any ideas for this?

I've no solution for you, but have you contacted the manufacturer of either your light or your helmet? Perhaps their support crew will have some ideas.

I have not
thanks, I can give that a try. I know from google that some go-pro users use a sticky mount sometimes, so will probably try that

Have you looked at the helmet headlamps that strap on with an elastic band?

GoPro Mount
Use GoPro side helmet mount. I have one on my Protone and is rock solid and clean.

thanks
that is what I want to end up with--assume it is an adhesive mount, but I need to use my light's bracket

this is for MTB
I doubt it would stay on, and I already know I need 700+ lumens to ride the trails at decent workout speed (safely)
