Rim Brake tubeless rim?
HED Belgium Plus -$150
Velocity Quill -$120 Open pro UST -$100 DT Swiss 460 -$40 What else?? Query for the forum. Is there a quality mid-level rim that fits this bill? Trying not to spend $250 on rims. I know I know I run the Compass BJP 35's but might also like to run the Panaracer GK 38 Tubeless. I've been running Pacenti PL23 Box sure rim for the last 2 years but they're toast. And I'm not keen on more Pacenti rims. I almost sprung for the DT460 After reading several favorable reviews here. But my LBS has strong warnings against that rim and say that they have sent many of them back. Is the OP UST the most budget friendly quality rim that fits the need? I've only seen one Open Pro UST online so far, and it was all bent up, so not off to a great start there.
I've had decent luck with the R460. I know a lot of people have run H Plus Son Archetypes tubeless, but that's probably only good for a low pressure CX/gravel situation rather than skinny high pressure road tires. There's also the Easton R90 SL, but they're also well over $100 a pop.

DT460's are solid, and can be had for well under 60 bucks. they are a great budget rim.

R460s. I've built >15 sets for folks and several for myself and never an issue. (knock on wood).
Best value out there. Kinlin makes some decent options too. XR31T is a little heavier but very nice.

A23? if you dont' need the 25mm outside width the a23 is a solid choice. I have both a set built with belgium+ and a set w a23. I enjoy riding both and they have both been very very reliable and solid builds. My bonjons blow up to 36.9 mm on belgium+ fyi

I've had a great experience with my Velocity A23 too.
I haven't built with the following but maybe a boyd altamont rim $105 fits in price wise.

I like using the Pacenti Forza (much improved over SL23), Boyd Altamont (standard and Lite), DT, and AForce for tubeless. All of them have been good at minimizing tension loss when a tubeless tire is installed. The Belgium Plus is also fine, but a bit overkill for most road use. The standard Hed isn't tubeless, but people have converted them. One note of caution, even though blowouts aren't necessarily a concern when you do have a pressure loss, the tire is more likely to remain in place on a tubeless rim as you come to a safe stop.
