I buy TWIN SIX purist bottles when they have a sale( get on their list or check facebook often, they are usually flash sales), I will get a seasons worth (about 20) I race MTB with my son and its not uncommon to use 5 each during a race. I transport our water to remote locations and also like to have different bottles mixed up. And a quick shower bottle. We also lose them often enough. The purist should not be scrubbed on the inside, btw.

HydroFlo

I use Spec' Hydroflo/Moflo primarily because with arthritic thumbs they are easy to squeeze especially as the weather grows colder. Flexibility wasn't a problem until aging set in..sigh!..I would like some options since they only come in 23oz sizing. They disposable (SmartWater) sounds like an option.

Wow! Those are ugly. With the holidays coming up, I might just have to buy some to give to my brother.

I've looked at the inside of my Spec bottles when cleaning them and the surface seems to remain quite smooth. But I usually only carry water and don't use anything abrasive to scrub them.

I tend to keep them for as long as possible because I'd really rather not contribute more to the problem of plastic waste. That, plus I'm cheap. What usually makes me chuck the bottle is the valve getting loose. Some start to look pretty bad as well, wonder if bead blasting (or similar) to give the outside a nice matte finish (no logo - yeah!) would work?

BTW, is it really necessary to import a plastic bottle from China?

That's always bothered me about the CamelBak bottles.

Last year, I ordered a pair of "light blue" Rapha water bottles from their site because they were on sale and I like the small Camelbacks. Light blue was important, as the bike is red with small powder blue bands. I received celeste green bottles. This was the phone dialogue when I called their west coast office:

me: "hello, I'd like to return these bottles because they are celeste green"
rapha:" yes, they are actually green"
me: " well, you should probably change the description on the site"
rapha " no, we have blue on there intentionally because it sounds more British"

I gave up.

Well, they had a point. Celeste Green is SO Italian.

Or, the ultimate solution to this problem is to only use the Rapha bespoke inflation mixture in your tires. Mind you, the Silca inflation adapter that is required is on backorder at this time.
