I would put whatever I can lay my hands on or have around in my parts bin to get this functional and on the road riding in the shortest possible time. I hardly ever let a frame sit for more than 1-2 days without completing the build. That's just my style. But then again, that might not be a fair expectation for you or some people as I often have at least anywhere between 5-6 "spare" complete groupsets and wheels sitting around that I can use for a build anytime.

If I was going to order my dream Slim it would have the Aqua Fade paint, a genuine Chris Ingleheart segmented fork and 54.5 TT. Unfortunately to get that would have been well out of my budget.
When I saw this on the Bay, my jaw hit the floor.
I contacted Chris Chance to verify the geometry and warranty and that’s all it took.
I’ll be building up a life long dream bike of mine.
Haven’t been this giddy about a build in 20 years.

I’m enjoying everyone’s suggestions and having fun looking up stuff I’m not familiar with.
Those Sugino cranks are very nice!
Appreciate the help and responses from everyone!

Other than future proofing, is there a good reason to go 11 speed over 10? I know they’ll be less of a jump between gears, but I’m not racing so no big deal.

For now, 11 speed is the norm. For now. I would not build a new bike with parts I didnt already have on 10 speed. Ignore the extra cog. Alot of times the 11 speed groups just shift and ride better. Maybe not Campagnolo but the others do. Even sHram.

I’ve been looking at used and will definitely do that where I can.
Only reason I began to consider Force was when comparing the prices, both new and used. Campy RDs and Cassettes are high.
With my mountain bikes, I don’t go too high end on components subject to damage and high wear. I suppose on a road machine the RD and cassette will last much longer so spending more might not be too bad.
I think I’m talking myself back into Campy!

I have been looking at the classifieds here, but need to get more posts before I can partake.
Black Potenza if you don't wish to have carbon. Chorus if you do..2 REAT choices, the best, IMHO.

Potenza and Veloce 11s cogsets are coming plus even Chorus works very well, lasts a long time..about the $100(or less) mark. Apples for apples, considering materials, Campag RDers aren't that much more expensive.

Agreed, I love the 1x SRAM Force setup on my CX. It's fantastic, and I have NEVER had a complaint about it.

That is a good deal. I’m still going back and forth.

Does anyone know if the Campag 10 speed Chorus UT cranks work with the new 11 speed?

It will work fine. My only 11sp bike has a Campy 9/10 square taper crank and I've had no problems.

I'd do all silver. Or as much as possible.

In my eyes, colors like green and blue -- this Slim -- go with silver, but not really with black.

Dave, who has a black Slim Chance which changes that color equation

The first Fat City I saw in person was an Aqua Fade Yo Eddy at Dirty Harry's bike shop outside Pittsburgh. I couldn't get it at the time, but in the years since I've picked up a Yo Eddy from about the same vintage along with too many other bikes. I wish I could've found a home here for that Slim, but alas, the bike slush fund was empty. It's nice to see that it went to someone here. I met Chris a few months ago on a vintage mtn bike ride and got to demo the new 27.5+ Yo. Very nice. Be sure to post some pics after the build!

Heck, I'd like some more frameset pics right now! That thing is beautiful. I think stem choice is more important than group, but with a black headset and post clamp I'd go black a'la pre-4 spoke Campy Record/Chorus.

Saw an original at a shop in Ft. Collins, CO a hundred years ago and was smitten, but was beyond my means at the time. The current XXL would fit me perfectly.

I’ll definitely be posting up more pics when I actually have the frame in hand! It’s still on its way. Should be here Thursday or Friday.
Gonna be hard to sneak that paint job past the chief financial officer!

"Chief Financial Officer!"

That's funny and I know exactly what you mean. Been there.

Well the shifting duty will be handled by Chorus 11 speed. Picked up some new 2015 shifters and derailleurs.
Still working on brakes, wheels, cockpit and so on.
