Problem solved. As I checked the front cap of the stem again, I noticed the same sound as the creak. I put never seize on the bolt heads and threads and the sound is gone. A call will go out to the manufacturer Monday.

So it had absolutely nothing to do with the steerer, headset or plug?

Seen that many times.



Recently a customer contacted us about his creaky saddle. Half way into the warranty process he found the loose seat post bolt that was actually creaking.
